2007 Pierre Amadieu Gigondas Romane Machotte
Tasting Notes: 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah. 14.5% ABV. Pretty violet color. Nose is fresh ripe berries and some minerality. This really smells great. Attack is ripe blueberry and blackberry with some plum. Lots of fruit, with some nice minerality. Rustic, ripe, fresh. The minerality/earthiness/stone dominates the finish. Very good. Will be very food friendly, something rustic, braised chicken thighs, some sort of stew, or charcuterie. My love affair with the Southern Rhone continues.
