2005 Valdivieso Éclat

About the Wine: The grapes come from the Meloxal area of the Maule Valley. The Carignan vines are over 60 years old. The grapes are hand picked, and cold macerated for 48 hours before meeting the yeast. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak.
Tasting Notes: Tasted during the Wines of Chile blogger tasting. 56% Carignan, 24% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah. 13.5% ABV. Purple, purple, purple. Red fruit, some jam and some smoke on the nose. Very fruit forward, some spice, nice structure, some earthiness, dry, smoke, medium body, medium finish. Will be wonderful food wine.
