2008 Concha y Toro Carménère Xplorador
Appellation: Central Valley, Chile
Tasting Notes: 100% Carménère. 13.5% ABV. Very dark purple. Nose is grape kool ade, smoke, and some jam. Surprising. Attack is dark fruit, transitioning to a smokey tobacco, and some spice. A little disjointed. Finish trasitions back to fruit jam with a pretty solid structure of tannins. Pretty smoth, nice mouthfeel. Better than the nose had me thinking. A good wine for the price, but just barely good wine.
Rating: 3/5
Price: $9.00 on Snooth, Cellar Tracker has it around $7.50. Was in a mixed case.
