2007 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot d’Alsace
Tasting Notes: This is a Pinot Blanc blend. 13.5% ABV. Pretty golden color in the glass. Nose is honey, melon, and tangerine. Initial attack is more honey and melon. Transitions to some minerals and citrus, then gets a little sweet as peaches come across. Substantial mouthfeel, like the syrup in a can of peaches, but not sickening sweet. This is a very nice wine, complex enough to keep a wine geek happy, simple enough to quaff on the deck with friends on a hot summer day. This is generally not a style of wine I like, but I like this one.
Price: Unknown, was brought by a friend for a dinner party, but Cellartracker says it’s around $20
