2009 Santa Ema “Amplus” Leyda Valley Chardonnay
Tasting Notes : 100% Chardonnay, aged 10 months in French oak, 14% vol. Straw yellow in the glass. Very fruity and citrusy on the nose with accompanying notes of green apple and very subtle vanilla spice and banana. In the mouth this wine has a very juicy acidity, refreshing bitterness and a full-bodied roundness. There is decent balance and flavors of green apple Jolly Rancher, citrus, and a very mild herbaceousness coming out in the finish. A decent wine but there is nothing too exciting or complex or expressive going on here.
