2006 Lemelson Vinyards Pinot Noir Thea’s Selection

Appellation: Willamette Valley, Oregon

Notes: 100% Pinot Noir, 14.5% ABV.  Color is a little dark and purple for Pinot, but I can still kinda see my fingers.  Nose is some dust, dirt, cherry, a little candy.  Cherry flavors, not jammy like I thought it might be based on the nose.  A bit of spice, a little tea.  Elegant and balanced, but not super complex.  Nice structured tannins, good finish.  I like this a lot, it will be a great match with a variety of foods.  Drinking well now, has the structure to last for quite a while longer.

Rating: 4/5

Price: $36.00 at Chesapeake Wine (a year ago).
