2008 Chapel Down Winery “English Bacchus”, Tenterden
Tasting Notes: 100% Bacchus, Lamberhurst vineyard, 13% vol. Light straw yellow in the glass. Very tropical and slightly chemical on the nose with aromas of kiwi and banana and an undertone of Malibu coconut rum meets tanning oil. Dry, crisp and refreshingly acidic in the mouth, accompanied by a smooth texture through the mid-palate that becomes slightly dry and tart on the finish. There are citrus flavors, in particular lemon, as well as green apple Jolly Rancher. The subtle chemical undertones are still present in the mouth. This wine even displays Soju and Sake-like flavors entering into the mid-palate.
Rating: 10/20 (78/100)
Price: 10£ in London
