Ok it’s 4:00am and I should really be hittin’ the hay since I have Government and Governance with Le Gales tomorrow (well later today I guess) at 10am. But I think I’m finally all wined out for the day (just reading, no drinking mind you) so I thought I’d drop a quick blog before counting the sheep. Please excuse me if I begin to ramble as like I just said, IT’S 4:00am!
I’ve been watching this guy for two years now and at first glance you won’t believe that he’s one of the most respected wine experts and wine merchants in the country. He can come off as a little obnoxious upon the first approach, but please be mindful that he’s gone head to head with wine icons like Michel Rolland and Jancis Robinson, just published his first wine book, and has made numerous national TV appearances, including Conan and the Today Show… so give him a few moments to soak in. A quick additional note… he grew his father’s Wine Library wine shop in New Jersey from a $5 million to a $45 million business in 5 years time and has gained quite the notoriety as a result.
Anyways, I was reminded today of this epic episode #148 from Gary Vaynerchuck’s daily Wine Library TV video podcast. This is EXACTLY what I love about wine. I admit it’s a little bizarre but I couldn’t say it any better. BTW anyone interested please tune in to Wine Library TV at tv.winelibrary.com. It sounds so cliche but as his mantra goes this guy really is “changing the wine world” and quite frankly I’M ENVIOUS! Oh and a note to my fellow friends at the MPA and around Paris… Gary was recently a highlighted speaker at Le Web 2.0 conference in Paris.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Oh and just as a quick reference, that bubbly he was guzzling along with the bowl o’ dirt at the very end was a $200 bottle of Vintage Cristal.
PS: GO BUCKS! The longhorns just scored a touchdown with 8 something to go in the 3rd quarter of the Fiesta Bowl. 10-6 Longhorns. Sounds like a boring game but it’s too bad I’m not watching it live! GOOOOOOD NIGHT!
