2008 Montes Limited Selection Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenere

About the Wine: This wine is from Montes’ La Finca Estate in the Apalta Valley. The wine was aged in American oak for 6 months.
Tasting Notes: Had this during the Wines of Chile blogger tasting. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenere. 14% ABV. Pretty ruby/violet color. Vanilla, oak, dark cherry, and butterscotch (!) on the nose. This is very interesting, full body, complex with dark fruit, vanilla, and the butterscotch is on the palate as well. Dry, structured tannins. This may not be for everyone, but I really like this. It’s also a screaming value. I’m looking for a case of this.
